Questions about the transition of your E*TRADE Complete Savings Account

When will my E*TRADE account move to Discover Bank?

Your E*TRADE Complete Savings Account will be converted to a Discover Online Savings Account on March 7, 2010.

How can I access my E*TRADE Complete Savings Account history, such as tax information and past statements?

E*TRADE will be able to provide you with historical account information, including statements and tax documentation. To get this information, please visit the E*TRADE web site or call 1-800-ETRADE1 (1-800-387-2331).

Will I lose any interest as a result of this transition?

No, you will not lose any interest when your account moves to Discover Bank. E*TRADE will calculate and credit your interest
through March 5, 2010. When your account is converted, this interest will be transferred to Discover Bank as principal.
Starting March 6, 2010, Discover Bank will start paying the interest on your account.

How will my interest earnings be reported?

In 2011, you will receive two 1099s for your converted account. E*TRADE will provide a 1099 for the interest earned between
January 1 and March 5, 2010. Discover Bank will provide a 1099 for the interest earned between March 6 and December 31, 2010.

Will I still be able to access my other E*TRADE accounts on the E*TRADE web site?

This transition only affects your E*TRADE Complete Savings Account. Therefore, if you have other E*TRADE accounts, you will still maintain the same access to those accounts you have today on the E*TRADE web site.

Questions about your new Discover Online Savings Account

What will be different about my Discover Online Savings Account?

Your Discover Online Savings Account is similar to the E*TRADE Complete Savings Account. Like your E*TRADE Complete Savings Account, this account is a variable rate product. The rate as of February 1, 2010 on the Discover Online Savings Account is 1.35%. Discover Bank offers similar online account management functionality compared to E*TRADE including ACH and fund transfers and has 24/7 customer service. Your Discover account comes with a new account number and routing number, offers paper statements and a new fee schedule. Please review the account agreement and fee schedule that will be mailed to you by March 7, 2010, which will contain the new terms of your Online Savings Account.

Will I receive a new account number?

Yes. On February 26, 2010, Discover Bank will send you a Welcome Kit that includes your new account number, an account agreement, and a privacy policy. Also, for your reference, the Discover Bank routing number is 031100649. If you do not
receive this Welcome Kit by March 7, please call us at 1-800-717-9833 and a Banking Specialist will provide you with your Discover Bank Account Number. You may view and print the Account Agreement and Privacy Policy online in PDF format.

How can I access my Discover Online Savings Account?

Starting March 7, you'll be able to register at the Discover Bank online Account Center. After you register, you can log on to the Account Center to access your new account and view your balance and transaction information. You can also call one of our Banking Specialists to obtain information about your account at 1-800-717-9833.

How can I access the funds in my Discover Online Savings Account?

You can access the funds in your Discover Online Savings Account by:

  • ACH Funds Transfer
  • Wire Transfer

When will I get my first statement from Discover Bank?

Your first Discover Online Savings Account statement will be available online March 31, 2010. We will also mail you
paper statements at least every quarter, or monthly if you're initiated any electronic funds transfers. Please allow an
additional 7 to 10 days to receive your statement in the mail.

I have direct deposit set up with E*TRADE. Will this automatically transfer to Discover Bank?

No. You will need to redirect your direct deposit to your new Discover Online Savings account. To do this, you will need
the new account number you'll receive in your Welcome Kit as well as the Discover Bank routing number (031100649).

I already have an account at Discover Bank. Will all of my accounts be covered by FDIC insurance?

Your current and converted accounts will be insured by the FDIC up to the maximum extent allowed by law. There are several ways to structure your accounts to maximize FDIC insurance coverage. You can contact the FDIC by calling toll free at 1-877-ASK-FDIC
